Working & Dreaming

It’s another quiet weekend here at the Guild, so today I built a cozy fire in the Fiber Arts studio and finished ironing and hemming the black fabric sails for my upcoming installation project. It was tedious work but not particularly difficult. There is a strange part of me that absolutely delights in long, repetitive tasks like this one — they create the perfect space for some of my very best thinking and dreaming. Even as this project is beginning to take shape, the nebulous and tantalizing beginnings of future projects are forming in my mind. It’s a really fun part of the process.

And of course the sails aren’t too bad, either.
